Introducing Patricia Basson | Design Team 2014

Hello Couture Creation friends...

My name is Patricia Basson from a small town called Secunda in South Africa. I am a stay at home mum, have three children and many more fur-ball children! I have been scrapping since 2007 and have found that these past three years I have really developed my style and comfort zone. I love surfing on-line sites and visiting Blogger and Face book friends, getting inspiration and following all the current trends. As most Scrappers I have enough stash to start my own small business, but am always open to try and sample any new product that hits the market!

My style may be described as a bit of Shabby Chic, some Vintage, and as of lately a little bit of mixed media as well. I do love trying new styles and techniques, but will find myself sticking to what I feel comfortable with. I love to layer, adding flowers and embellishments and just generally create 'pretty' pages. Distressing and making my paper and embellishments 'move' are what I enjoy most when creating a page.

I am truly blessed and so thankful for been given the opportunity to be on the Couture Creations Design Team and hope that in the months to come, You will be inspired in some way by what I create.

Happy Scrapping from Patricia...

onto Patricia's project

Good Morning friends...

I would love to share my very first project done using some of the amazing products from my Couture Creations Design Team kit...Apart from the cutting Dies and embossing folders, I also received some amazing tools, an abundance of different adhesives, foam tape, glue dots and paper packs. I will reveal all as I go along...to much to show all at once!!!

For my first project I used these photos of Francois and Chantelle as little kids in 1989! It was taken just after we build and moved into our new home...precious memories...

I used a brown card stock as base and a beautiful polka dot sheet from the 12x12 Sew Jo Paper stack that was punched and distressed.

I Die-cut the New York Street Light out of Teal Kraft-Core Core'dinations and used Glitzin Glamour Glitter Glue, Crystalina on it.

Sanding the Pink/Black ColourCore Cardstock revealed the Pink core of the paper. Here I used the Tied Together Die from the Momento Ornamental Lace Die Collection as a mat behind my photo. I also used the inside confetti as accents.

I placed the English Tea Light hanging from my flourishes...

I cut two sets of the Trudor flourish from the Sophia Collection  to create a longer corner border. I used a stylus to roll the leaves in order for them to curl.

My paper was coloured with some colour mists and I also used a mask and texture paste to create the brickwork effect.

I used the Heritage Die and Black and Teal card stock to create these bookends for my photos. I cut the Teal Die-cut apart. Also used the Glitter Glue to give the subtle shimmer to the card stock.

Using the Quick Release Die Paper between the Die and card stock, makes it simple and easy to cut and release intricate shapes...

I used the square Nesting Dies to cut my photos and card stock...making it easy for some one who tends to battle with cutting straight.
