Reverse Canvas by Amanda Baldwin

Hi Couture Creations Fans!
Amanda here, and I am super excited to be sharing this gorgeous reverse canvas art with you all!
It's modern, girly and vibrant.......
& it's a beautiful showcase of the Couture Creations Sew Jo Paper, and Who What Wear Collection

Isn't this a real treasure?!
Makes a fabulous gift & it's really simple to create.

Here's how to re-create this divine project:

1. Apply gesso to back of canvas - I like it a bit 'raw and scratchy' looking, so I keep the timber visible.

2. Emboss the Core'dinations Cardstock with the Design Patterns Premium Embossing Folder. Sand it back to expose the core and enhance the pattern (I strongly recommend Core'dinations Cardstock, you'll get a far superior result when sanding).

3. Cut to size, and insert into canvas back, as shown.

4. Dribble yellow watercolour paint down the canvas, and leave standing upright to dry.
While waiting for the canvas to dry, fussy cut the dress form and measuring tape from the
Sew Jo Paper Pad. Use the Glamour Days Intricutz Dies & black cardstock to create silhouettes of a sewing machine and sewing kit.

Tip: I added a small amount of black watercolour to my canvas & daubbed it, -so it wasnt too intense.

5.Use Couture Creations 3D Foam Dots to attach dress form to embossed cardstock.

6. Attach milliners lace, focal flower (I made mine from the Nesting Dies: Roses so I could achieve the right colour and size) & the sewing machine.

7. Continue to embellish with sewing kit bobbin & thread spool, and flowers. For a more authentic look, I inserted yellow pearl dress pins to the thread spool.

 8. Position & glue the measuring tape across canvas top, as shown above.
Attach ribbons & more flowers....

9. Use a script stamp to add interest, then attach die cut scissors & decorative button.

Pompom trim finishes off the canvas base & a few cleverly positioned gemstones add a lil bling without overkill!

For final finishing touches, add a title with alpha stamps (SEW) & drape a small string of tiny black pearls over the measure tape.

Wow!
Sew easy.......
 (sorry, couldn't help myself!)
