Introducing Jo Simons

#couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts

 Hello paper friends!

I'm Jo-Anne Simons tho most people know me as Jo:)  I live in Perth Western Australia with 3 teenage children and my extremely supportive husband.

I am by no means a new face around Couture Creations, Ultimate Crafts as I have had the honour to work on the team now for the past 3 years.  Not only have I fallen in love with their products, I love that I am supporting a growing Australian company in an industry that I am passionate about.

Please don't ask me to choose between scrapbooking or cards./  That's like asking a mum to choose her favourite child :)  I love to enjoy both.   This craft for me isn't just about memory keeping for my children, its also a way for me to just play with pretty things and be a bit creative.

My work style I would describe as layered and very pretty/girly.  I love a good doily (ok sometimes maybe more than one) on my work.  Flowers are almost always a feature on my scrapbook pages/cards.  As much as I like to try mixed media I still seem to come back to my clean white pages.  Oh and pink - yep I am a BIG fan of the colour pink.  One thing I have learned over the 8 years or so of crafting is to just have a go!  It might work out, it might not.  There will be things that you like and things that you don't. And that's ok.   Just enjoy the process.  After all that's what its all about.

Thanks for stopping by a massive thank you to the wonderful people at Couture Creations for putting up with me for another term on this fantastic team.
I truly love being apart of this team and hope to continue to inspire you with some amazing products.
Today I have a super simple card to share with you using one of the new dies and embossing folders from the new Sea Breeze collection.

This card was super quick to put together.
I used the Framing The Breeze embossing folder along with some Co-ordinations cardstock.  I then sanded back the top layer to reveal the kraft underneath.
For my sentiment I used one of the stickers from the Sea Breeze collection paper pack.
My anchor (Anchored Flourish die) I made by cutting out the die using cereal boxes.  I cut it out 3 times and then stuck it together with glue.  This then gave me a good thick anchor to put my textured paste on.  I used some texture paste with little beads in and then used embossing powders in a mix of colours to give it an aged look.
Here is a close up of the detail in the anchor.
