A Splash of Colour by Tracey Cooley

Hi Couture Creators

I love the technique on these cards, its one of my favourites, it makes for a great flash of colour and makes them bright and cheerful. So I thought I would share it with you.

To try this technique simply cut a piece of black Core dinations cardstock into a 5" x7" card base.
Then using a piece of Core dinations Black Magic cardstock cut 2 mats to fit using the back of the black magic as you coloured mat.  Take the smallest mat (black) and emboss using Couture Creations Elegance Taylor Embossing Folder.

Using the Couture Creations Craft Knife cut around selected embossed images making sure NOT to cut right through the cardstock. ** keep your pressure firm but not hard, like scoring.

After scoring around your design simply flick up an edge with your craft knife so that you can see the coloured core underneath.

Then simply tear off the upper black layer of cardstock to reveal the coloured core below. **TIP if you make little mistakes around your cuts simply repair with a black pen.
You can do this technique to the entire embossed image or just here and there and lightly sand the rest with Couture Creations Sanding Block. ** Core dinations Chocolate Box Cardstock is also great for this technique.
Adhere all mats to the card base using Couture Creations Double Sided Tape and embellish as desired.
