Mini Canvas by Amanda Baldwin

#couturecreationsaus

Amanda here, & I have a gorgeous last minute gift idea to share with you today.
It features the stunning new The Metricon Intricutz Die: Fancy Frame & is just divine!
The best part - you can make this sweet mini canvas in under ten minutes.

Just lovely, isn't it?
The butterflies are fussy cut from the Damask Delight paper.
I used a mini canvas 10cm x 10cm.
You can pick them up for around $2, so I tend to keep a few stashed away for moments like these
(AKA I forgot to get a gift - quick, create!)

1. Mix a little gesso with the paint colour of your choice. This way you will prime your canvas & paint it at the same time reducing drying times.

2.While paint dries, run your colour cardstock and Fancy Frame die through your die-cutting machine.
Tip: Use Quick Release Paper for easy removal of this intricate, fussy frame.
Trim a photo to fit inside the frame & set aside.
Once paint is dry, adhere the frame to the canvas.
I used Mod Podge to hold it into place and seal, as I didn't want the ornate corners lifting. Once dry, attach photo.

3. Fussy cut the butterflies from Damask Delight paper, arrange blooms, hairpin & butterflies and secure in place.
4. Position Self-Adhesive Pearls on frame cornices for a more finished look.

5. Add finishing touches: I used a little florists dry moss & a couple more butterflies to complete the canvas.
And there you have it!
A super sweet mini canvas that will be treasured for years to come (& no one will ever know that you whipped it up in a matter of minutes!)
