Pockets of Kenya by Tracey Cooley

Hi Everyone

My Love of the African Continent is well known amongst my friends and I especially love the incredible sights, sounds and landscape of Kenya. I have been fortunate enough to visit this special place twice in the last ten years, when I am there I feel very much at home.
(don't get me wrong I am and Aussie Girl through and through and there is no place like Australia but...)
A couple of nights ago I watched a very good African documentary and decided that it was time to get out my pocket pages again and try and get some of my African holiday pics squared away. So with the Help of the Couture Creations Secret Treasures Journal tab and Polaroid frame I have created a page for my 2002 African Holiday Album.
(I went again in 2012 and have not even looked at those 1000 pics yet!)

I tried to bring an African feel to my pocket page by first die cutting my 4 Tabbed Journal die cuts (they fit perfectly in the 3x4 pockets) and 4 6x4 Pieces in Core dinations Bright White cardstock and spritzing them with earth tone colours like brown, orange and yellow..
(reminds me of the beautiful sunsets we witness over the savannah and  for me there is nothing more earthy than Africa)

I then die cut one of the 6x4 pieces with the Couture Creations Secret Treasures Aurora Vine and Van Roe Journey Dies leaving the negative on my card, then I slipped some white behind it.

Then I used the die cut by turning it over and using as a feature on one of the tabbed Journal die cuts

And the Die cut Journey on the bottom of the Couture Creations Polaroid Frame die cut.

With a brad I repurposed an old earing I had lying around and added an adjective to my die cut word.
Then adhered the whole thing to another o the 6x4 pieces

I added some more drops and splats with spritz along with some rub ons to finish off the African feel of my pockets.

I hope that my love of Africa and everything in it, can inspire you to get out your pocket pages and get crafting!
